The 2023 Baojun KiWi EV is a mini EV under the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture and the world's first mass-produced new energy vehicle to be equipped with drone maker DJI’s autonomous driving technology. The vehicle overall is cute and futuristic targeting the younger consumer group. From concepting to launch production-grade HMI, Zaiye synthesized in-car experience and embraced edge technology by utilising a customised Design System on a twin 10.25-inch screen.
Zaiye found "Light" as key element to harmonizing with the Baojun brand's visual design, which is pure, stylish and futuristic. Color palette styled Dark & Bright Modes echoed the light changing outside, as well as perfectly blending into the inside ambient.
In addition to more than 400 key pages, Zaiye standardized design system with structured components library, including buttons, Icons, cards, lists and so on, with various statuses in order for seamless transfer from design to engineering. Besides, the team organized hierarchical guidelines for color and layer style application to support the interface iteration on the basis of consistent experience.
